In Pursuit Ministries of CA offers two types of CPR training and Disaster First Aid.
In Pursuit offers the Hands Only CPR which is also call Cardio Cerebral Resuscitation or Sidewalk CPR. This is a 10-15 minute presentation with the student working the CPR manikin for almost the entire time. There is no certification for this presentation. The student is taught to call 911 and then do chest compressions till emergency services arrive or the student is exhausted and can't go on. This class is provided at no cost.
The second CPR class taught by In Pursuit is a full 3-4 hour class certified by the National Safety Council (NSC). Certification is good for 2 years. A suggested donation is $17.00 per student and scholarships are available.
In Pursuit offers a unique first aid class geared toward disasters. It is called Disaster First Aid...when 911 can't come! This is a 4-5 hour class covering how to beat the 3 killers till professional rescue or aid is obtained. A suggested donation of $12.00 per student and scholarships are available
The instructor for these classes is Chaplain John Schmidt. Chaplain Schmidt has over 40 years of experience in Emergency Services. He has taught over 500 CPR classes with over 5,000 students trained. Chaplain Schmidt's students have over 40 CPR\AED saves. Chaplain Schmidt is a certified instructor for both the American Red Cross and for the National Safety Council in First Aid, CPR and AED. Chaplain Schmidt is also a certified FEMA instructor for the popular Community Emergency Response Team training (CERT). The Disaster First Aid class is a quick class that follows the CERT training course but in 4 hours instead of 20.
